Tweed Run in Spetses

Starting from London in 2009 and after having already visited Tokyo, New York and Toronto, the fascinating Tweed Run visited Greece! The most “elegant” bike ride, synonym of style and finesse of a bygone era, passed through Spetses, the cosmopolitan, car-free island, bathed in the charm and elegance befitting this event. Poseidonion Grand Hotel, the iconic hotel that celebrates this year its centenary, will be organizing this year’s Tweed Run, perfectly in line with the spirit and aesthetics that this particular occasion represents. Poseidonion Grand Hotel and Poseidonion square were filled with beautiful classic bikes and costumes of young and old.

Tweed jackets and trousers, flattering capes, stylish caps, colorful scarves, unique designs of brogues and oxford shoes, all in marvellous combinations that “dressed up” the backdrop of the historic 100 years’ hotel with a vintage atmosphere which turned back time, exuding fairytale a feel. The highlight of the event was the exciting vintage beauty pageant on Saturday afternoon at the hotel’s lobby. The jury panel was formed by the acclaimed designer Mr. Vasilis Zoulias, the man behind the creation of the Tweed Run Mr. Ted Young – Ing, the editor of Mrs. Helena Stasinopoulou, the jewelry designer Mr. Periclis Kondilatos and the Creative Director Mr. Panos Rigas. The participants paraded in a very warm atmosphere and were judged for their attire, with unique moments captured by photographic lens.
