The Jaguar Project 7

The Jaguar Project 7 will make its world debut at the 2013 Goodwood Festival of Speed. The Project 7 name refers to the number of times Jaguar has won the Le Mans 24 Hours race, while the blue and white paintwork was inspired by victorious Jaguar D-types of the mid 1950s. Exterior changes over standard F-type models include a new front bumper with larger air intakes and a carbon-fibre front splitter. There are also special side skirts, a large rear diffuser and a fixed rear spoilers while the headlights have gloss black – rather than chrome – surrounds. A lowered windscreen gives a more racy look, while the folding roof system has been replaced by a rollover hoop and a bespoke fairing behind the driver’s head that is also influenced by D-type race cars. Although there are no plans for a production version of the Project 7, a hardcore version of the F-type is likely to be introduced within the next two years and the Project 7 gives an idea of how it could look.
